For Students:
Your Story, Your Journey

Everyone’s journey looks different. Some people start with curiosity, others with creativity, and some with a simple question: What if? Career development is about exploring who you are, what you care about, and how you can bring that into the world.

The Start Your Future resource hub takes you on a short, interactive journey through several emerging technology careers, helping you discover what these paths involve and what skills or passions you already have that align with them. Whether it’s gaming, digital storytelling, or building things online, your interests can be the spark that shapes your future.

For Counselors & Educators:
Accessible Resources for Emerging Careers

For educators and counselors, the Start Your Future resource hub offers a bridge between career theory and classroom engagement. Grounded in frameworks such as Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), Krumboltz’s Happenstance Learning Theory, and Super’s Life-Span, Life-Space Theory, the site models how creative storytelling, technology, and self-reflection can guide students through the exploration process.

Together, these approaches help learners build confidence, curiosity, and self-concept as they imagine possibilities for their future.

Supporting Student Well-Being

Exploring the future can be exciting but can also be overwhelming. If thinking about careers, school, or life after graduation brings up stress or big feelings, that’s normal. It can help to talk to someone and know where to find help.

For Educators: A quick check-in (“What stood out? What felt difficult?”) after each activity supports reflection and helps identify students who may need more support.
